I’m Christell Foote, founder of Footewear—a brand born from standing tall in every sense of the word.

Growing up, I was always the tallest girl in the room. I loved my height—it gave me presence, confidence, and a view from above. But it came with a quiet frustration: I could never find shoes that fit. While my friends tried on trendy heels or cute flats, I wandered the store aisles, looking at styles that stopped just before my size.

Over the years, that struggle began to represent something more. It wasn’t just about shoes. It was about belonging. About walking through life knowing there was literally no space designed with me in mind. I started to wonder: Why should women like me—tall, bold, unique—have to squeeze into styles that were never made for us?

The story of Cinderella always stuck with me, the Glass Slipper™. The one shoe made only for her. It didn’t ask her to shrink. It didn’t ask her to change. It fit—because it was made for her. That slipper was more than footwear—it was a symbol of authenticity, identity, and destiny.

Thinking about Cinderella sparked something in me. What if I could design a “Glass Slipper™” for women like me? Shoes that didn’t ask us to compromise, but celebrated exactly who we are?
That’s how Footewear was born—a fashion-forward footwear company that creates beautiful shoes for women who don’t fit the mold—and never wanted to.
